AdSense Program policies

Every Google Adsense publishers should know Adsense program policy in detail and should follow all the policies. Otherwise your Adsense account will be suspended. In this page, we brief out their policies. To know detail, click here.


Invalid clicks and impressions

Clicks on Google ads must result from genuine user interest. Any method that artificially generates clicks or impressions on your Google ads is strictly prohibited. These prohibited methods include, but are not limited to, repeated manual clicks or impressions, automated click and impression generating tools and the use of robots or deceptive software. Please note that clicking your own ads for any reason is prohibited.


Encouraging clicks or views

Publishers may not ask others to click or view their ads or use deceptive implementation methods to obtain clicks or views. This includes, but is not limited to, offering rewards to users for viewing ads or performing searches. Publishers CAN'T encourage users to click the Google Ads by using phrases such as "click the ads", "support us", "visit these links", "Favorite Sites", "Today's Top Offers" or format site content so that it is difficult to distinguish from ads.


Authorized inventory (ads.txt)

If AdSense publishers choose to use ads.txt on their domains, those publishers must ensure that they are included as authorized sellers of that inventory. For more information about ads.txt guide, click here


Google Publisher Policies & Restrictions

When you monetize your content with Google ad code you are required to adhere to the following policies to maintain trust in the ads ecosystem. Failure to comply with these policies may result in Google blocking ads from appearing against your content, or suspending or terminating your account.
  • Illegal content: Google do not allow content that is illegal, promotes illegal activity, or infringes on the legal rights of others.
  • Intellectual property abuse: Google does not want that you use copyright protected content in your website. You can file a DMCA counter-notification via this form.
  • Dangerous content: Your website content should NOT promote -- violence / hatred against individuals or groups / suicide, anorexia, or other self-harm or threatening someone with real-life harm / hacking or cracking materials / fake documents / malicious or unwanted software / sexually explicit content or adult themes or Child sexual abuse material and pedophilia.
  • Publishers restrictions: Publishers should NOT BE ALLOWED to use the following contents -- any sexual content / any graphically shocking content (E.g. blood, guts, gore, sexual fluids, human or animal waste, crime scene or accident photos etc) / violance (E.g. images of shootings, explosions, bombings, execution videos etc) / promotes the sale of explosive products / instructions about the assembly, enhancement or acquisition of explosive items / promoting guns, gun parts and other related products & weapons / promotes the sale of tobacco and tobacco-related products / Alcohol sale or misuse / promotes online sale of prescription medication.
  • Online gambling: Publisheres SHOULD NOT promote any online real-money gambling or any internet-based game where real money is won based on the outcome of the game.


Ad placement

Publishers are encouraged to experiment with a variety of placements and ad formats. However, AdSense code may not be placed in inappropriate places such as pop-ups, emails, softwares, dynamically-generated content (such as live chat, instant messaging, auto-refreshing comments). Few important policies are -
  • Avoiding accidental clicks: Publishers are NOT PERMITTED to encourage users to click on Google ads in any way. Be careful when placing links, play buttons, download buttons, navigation buttons (e.g., "Previous" or "Next") etc near ads because they might lead to accidental clicks. Even if the layout unintentionally leads to accidental clicks, publishers may still receive a violation notification.
  • Placing ads under misleading header: It's important that visitors to your site are not misled in any way and are able to easily distinguish content from Google Display ads. This policy prohibits placing ads under misleading headings such as "recommended" or "helpful links". Publishers may only label Google ads under "Advertisements".
  • Site layout that pushes content below the fold: Publishers should avoid site layouts in which the ads push content below the fold. These layouts make it hard for users to distinguish between the content and ads. Click here to view.
  • Auto-refreshing ads: Publishers are not permitted to refresh a page without the user requesting a refresh. This policy prohibits placing of ads on auto-refreshing page. Additionally, publishers may not display the ads for a preset time (i.e., pre-roll) before users can view content such as videos, games, or downloads.
  • Ads on thank you, exit, log in, error pages: Publishers are NOT PERMITTED to place ads on any non-content based pages like thank you, error, log in, or exit pages. These are pages that visitors see on a site before potentially leaving the domain or after performing a specific action on the site such as a purchase or download.
  • Ads on dynamic content: Publishers may not place Google ads on pages where dynamic content (e.g., live chats, instant messaging, auto-refreshing comments, email etc.) is the primary focus of the page.
